Privacy Policy

The short version: there is no account, no tracking, and no advertising on this site, and we do not build any profile of you.

What we do not collect

• No sign-up, login or user account of any kind.
• No advertising or analytics trackers, and no third-party tracking scripts.
• No cookies are set by this site, and nothing is written to local storage.
• No name, email address or payment information is ever requested.

What happens when you check an app

The search text you type — an app name, store link, app ID or package name — is sent to our server so it can fetch the matching public store listing on your behalf. That request is made from our server, not from your browser, which means the app stores do not see your IP address.

Results are held in the server's memory for up to one hour so that a repeated lookup does not have to hit the stores again. This cache holds public app data only. It is keyed by the search term, is not associated with you, and disappears when the process restarts.

Server logs

The site runs on Google Firebase Hosting and Cloud Functions. As with essentially any web host, Google's infrastructure records standard technical request data — including IP address, timestamp, requested URL and user agent — for security, abuse prevention and operational purposes. We do not use those logs to identify or profile visitors. That processing is governed by Google's own privacy terms as our hosting provider.

Third parties we contact

To produce a result, our server requests public pages and APIs from Apple (itunes.apple.com and apps.apple.com) and Google (play.google.com), and a daily currency rate from open.er-api.com. These requests carry no information about you. App icons shown in results are loaded by your browser directly from Apple's and Google's image hosts, which means those hosts can see your IP address in the same way any embedded image would.

Children

The site is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Your rights

Because we do not hold personal data about you, there is normally nothing to access, correct or delete. If you believe we hold something relating to you, write to hello@fairapps.io and we will look into it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it. If a future version ever starts collecting something, that will be stated plainly here before it does.
